Hidden Bradford 3 – Contax AX, Vivitar 19mm f/3.8, Fuji Superia 200
Here’s a flight of steps going nowhere, or so it seems. Again a great number of people pass along a major road within yards of where I was standing when I took the picture. Fewer people actually walk past it but (a clue) many of these have something else on their mind. Can anyone say where it is?
I was on my way to shoot something else for which I wanted a super wide angle so ditched the object of my most recent love affair, Olympus, and took the Contax AX so I could use the Vivitar which has a C/Y mount. It’s not quite the widest lens I have – that’s a 17-28mm Vivitar – but I prefer prime lenses.
No-one has yet come up with the location of the second ‘hidden Bradford’. It’s only a few yards from the first but the only way you will see it is to climb a little hill as it’s well hidden on top, right next to the railway line. If you’re a classic motocycle fan there’s another reason to make the visit, a great shop full of classic bikes, Eddy’s Moto, is right next door.
Wow, great photo! I really, really want to climb those steps!

Location of Hidden Bradford 3.
It’s time to reveal the whereabouts of Hidden Bradford 3 from grumpytykepix.
A few yards from the busy A658 Otley Road, the principal road from Bradford city centre to Leeds-Bradford airport, the steps going nowhere are just inside the main gates of the fabulous Bradford Cemetery at Undercliffe, about 1.5 miles from the city centre. It’s clear that not many people venture up them but I cannot leave such a place unexplored. They really do go nowhere now.
